How To Keep Healthy Air In Your Home

plants

Our insulated homes make keeping cold or warm air in easier, but it also makes it easier for air pollutants to stay in.

There are many potentially toxic materials in our homes like: many types of glue, adhesives, carpets, chemicals like formaldehyde, paint, and others that we breathe every day.

You may have also just bought furniture from a hotel outlet, a furniture reseller, or a hotel furniture surplus store and it smells…just a little weird.

But do not worry. We are giving you three different plants that are great for filtering your air naturally and to make your home smell a little bit fresher.

English Ivy

The English Ivy spreads easily, so it works very well in pots. It’s especially good for eliminating airborne fecal matter particles. It is also good for soaking up second-hand smoke to purify areas.

golden-pothos

Golden Pothos is to be considered one of the most effective choices for eliminating formaldehyde by NASA. This plant is also hard to kill, so it’s considered to be a starter plant.

boston-fern

The Boston Fern is a great natural air humidifier. This fern can get large so make sure you have a lot of room.

fresh air

There you have it. If you want fresher air in your home and don’t want to spend a ton of money on appliances making that happen, then trust what NASA uses and get some new plants.

Four Areas Where You Can Improve Your Kitchen

modern style white kitchen

The kitchen is said to be the soul of the house. It’s where people congregate and prepare their meals to eat together. It’s sometimes the most used space in a house, so it’s important to focus some time to thinking about how you want to design this important space.

In this article, we’re going to be going through four areas to help your existing kitchen and even help you put together a future one.

1) Storage
kitchen cabinets
Having enough storage is crucial. By being able to put almost everything in a cabinet or some type of storage in the kitchen, then your kitchen will seem much bigger, and look much nicer simply by being clean.

Some examples of storage for kitchens would be kitchen shelving, dish racks, spice jars and racks, food pantries and wine racks. Not everyone (well, barely anyone) can afford new cabinets, or cabinets to supplement their existing ones. By using a less expensive storage system you’ll be able to save money and also save space in your kitchen, which is something a lot of kitchens could really use.

2) Lighting
Lighting is one of the most important aspects to a kitchen. Essentially, the more lighting the better.

Natural lighting is the ultimate lighting, so it’s best to leave your curtains open and take advantage of the sun.

It’s also good to have various other sources of light to improve your kitchen as well. The worst thing to do is have your kitchen be too dark.

Also, having the ability to dim your lights helps immensely for adjusting to any particular mood.

3) Know What to Buy Used and New
There are good times to buy something and to buy something used.

For example, it would be wise to get furniture from used furniture stores or furniture hotel outlets. It takes a Saturday to do a lot of furniture repairs, plus getting secondhand furniture saves you so much money. Getting some used kitchen stools and investing the extra money into other areas of the kitchen would be wise.

One of those areas that you should spend a little bit more on is the appliances. Appliances don’t age very well, plus they get outdated easily. Buying an older appliance means you get outdated software and energy conservation. On a lot of refrigerators, dishwashers, etc. you’ll save on your utility bill by buying a newer version.

4) Hide the Trash

We’ll end on a simple one. Simply place your trash can under your sink. Or if you want to get a little fancy buy a bin for your trashcan.

It will make your kitchen smell less and look better by having your trash out of sight.

Hopefully, these tips will help you spruce up your kitchen and make it more inviting to have guests over.
